MADRID (AP) — The attacks and accusations between Barcelona and Spanish league president Javier Tebas are far from over. The latest spat on Monday was the club asking for Tebas’ resignation after a report said the league gave false evidence against Barcelona to prosecutors in the refereeing scandal involving the Catalan club.Tebas had already claimed the report by La Vanguardia newspaper was misleading and carried incorrect assumptions, but it was enough to reignite the vendetta between the two sides.“It is not the first time that the president of La Liga has used the media weapons at his disposal to damage FC Barcelona,” the club said in a statement. “However, in contrast to his usual nonsense, we could never have imagined that he could try to incriminate our club with false evidence.”Barcelona said the article published by La Vanguardia “is of such gravity that it should put all the clubs in La Liga on alert, given that it talks of practices which are in no way consistent with the ...Una por una: las nuevas camisetas de Nike para 13 selecciones de la Copa Mundial femenina

HOUSTON (AP) — Certainly, Jim Nantz could fill an evening weaving tales of the great games and buzzer-beaters he’s had the privilege to see, and call, over a storytelling career that made his the voice of March Madness for nearly four decades. But when asked about his favorite moments as he prepared for the 354th and final game of that journey — Monday’s title game — he brought up Delaware State. The Hornets were a 16 seed when they made what is still their only NCAA appearance back in 2005. They were going against Duke in a first-round game hardly anyone remembers now. Nantz was certain he’d see those Duke players again.“But those Delaware State kids, they’re on CBS, and I envisioned that someday, they’re going to have the VHS tape to be able to show their grandchildren and say ‘I played in the NCAA Tournament,'” Nantz said during a courtside conversation with The Associated Press the day before the start of his last Final Four. “This tourn...Los primeros en 50 años: conoce a los astronautas que viajarán a la Luna con NASA

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Hurricane Ian briefly reached maximum Category 5 status before weakening to a Category 4 storm as it blasted ashore last September in southwest Florida, eventually causing over $112 billion in damage in the U.S. and more than 150 deaths directly or indirectly, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reported Monday. The report, which NOAA releases for all major tropical storms, also says Ian was the costliest hurricane in Florida history and the third-costliest ever in the U.S. as a whole. In addition to Florida, Ian impacted Georgia, Virginia, the Carolinas and Cuba before it fell apart Oct. 1.The NOAA report elevates Ian to one of the most powerful tropical cyclones on record as a Category 5 with winds estimated at 161 mph (259 kph) on Sept. 28 after passing by the Dry Tortugas islands. Although it weakened to a Category 4 storm when it struck Florida later that day with winds of 150 mph (241 kph), the storm is now on the list of deadly monst...Denver area homes still selling faster than nearly any other US metro area

DENVER (KDVR) — Very little seems to sour homebuyers in the Denver metro area. The Front Range housing market has been characterized by limited supply, limited development and stratospheric prices for the better part of three years. Denver area homes are the nation's eighth most expensive, according to the March market report from Realtor.com, which compares real estate markets across the 50 largest metro areas in the U.S. The median listing price in March was $655,000. This would require a roughly $200,000 household income, assuming current interest rates, a 30-year mortgage and a 20% down payment. This is the household income threshold for the top 10% of American households, according to the World Economic Forum. Colorado cities rank highest for DUI arrests per capita That top 10% is still snapping up homes around the Denver metro faster than almost anywhere in the U.S. A Denver area home sat on the market for 28 days before it sold in March, according to the Realtor.com report...Denver weather: Fire danger Monday, Pinpoint Weather Alert Day for snow Tuesday

A shock cut in oil output by the OPEC+ group has thrown a spanner into central banks’ efforts to tame inflation just as pressure on Europe’s cost of living was starting to ease. The announcement on Sunday by the oil-producing cartel of a reduction of over 1 million barrels per day ― forcing the price up by as much as 8 percent by Monday morning ― has stoked fears of a knock-on effect on the economy as a whole. It comes at a time when inflation is only just starting to slow after reaching record rates in the eurozone since the summer. It will take about two months for the OPEC+ decision to trickle down to the real economy, as current crude prices make their way to oil products, said Jorge León, senior vice president of Rystad Energy, a market intelligence firm. This will “most likely” increase inflation.“That’s a problem for Europe, because oil prices are very relevant for headline inflation in Europe” as a net importer of oil, he said.
