Mild Today, Weekend Trending Dry?

Published Fri, 21 Feb 2025 21:22:28 GMT

If you liked yesterday, you’ll like today as temps rebound from the 40s and 50s this morning, back to near 70 degree this afternoon. With a mix of sun and clouds and a light breeze, overall, it’ll be a solid day to enjoy those outdoor activities. Tonight, a cold front slips through, allowing for a cooler day tomorrow with highs in the lower 60s. It’ll be dry, so a pleasant day overall still. How about the weekend? Trending drier! While the weather pattern certainly has not been on our side for many of the recent weekends, the trend is our friend with this one. As an area of low pressure to our east, retrogrades back west, into Nova Scotia, the overall pattern gets pressed a bit south. That means an area of low pressure approaching us from the west, will slip south of New England. In fact, it’ll slip far enough to the south that most of the rain misses to our south. The highest risk for showers in our area will be Saturday night/Sunday AM near the south coast...

Orioles’ sour end to sweet 2023 extends playoff losing streak to MLB-worst 8 games: ‘Are we ever going to win again?’

Published Fri, 21 Feb 2025 21:22:28 GMT

The Orioles’ streak of 91 regular-season series without being swept defined their 2023 campaign before the club’s unprecedented year ended in “ironic” fashion, as center fielder Cedric Mullins put it, with a sweep in the American League Division Series. That streak is technically still intact, but the next time Baltimore is in the playoffs, a new one will be the focus. With their three-and-out in the ALDS against the Rangers, the Orioles have lost eight consecutive postseason games — the worst stretch in franchise history and the longest active streak in the sport. Only nine teams in MLB history have suffered a longer such streak.“You never want to be on a streak,” Orioles fan Nathan Skidmore said before Game 3 of the ALDS. “You never want people to be able to pull that up on a graphic and be like, ‘Eight in a row.’“Anytime you’re on a streak like that, I think you start to worry like, ‘Are we e...

Its display in typical Bentley fashion is an eye catcher and one that is rarely witnessed by many. Front fascia, exterior badging and that iconic nose is what Bentley is all about. Color options include the exterior and the roof, while the interior includes veneers and the hide. Overall, by my count, I see over 300 different color combination options to choose from,...

In advance of an annular “ring of fire” solar eclipse occurring this Saturday, NASA has set up an interactive eclipse explorer so people can see when they should look up, and what phase of the eclipse they will experience from their location. Most of the contiguous United States will experience a partial eclipse this Saturday, Oct. 14. BRUSSELS (AP) — Three months after NATO announced that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had agreed to let Sweden become a member of the military organization, little sign has emerged that the Nordic country will be allowed to join its ranks anytime soon. The issue was expected to be raised Thursday at NATO headquarters where the 31 member countries were holding their second day of talks.Sweden and its neighbor Finland turned their backs on decades of military non-alignment after President Vladimir Putin ordered Russia troops to invade Ukraine in February 2022.
