The band that was on stage at Cook’s Corner bar in Trabuco Canyon when a gunman opened fire, killing three people and wounding six others held a benefit concert Sunday to help victims of the tragedy. The deadly shooting unfolded on Aug. 23 when retired Ventura police sergeant John Snowling walked directly up to his wife inside the popular bar and grill, and, without saying a word, shot her and a friend, according to witnesses. DENVER (KDVR) -- A man was climbing near Copper Mountain Saturday and was found dead Sunday after a friend reported him missing, according to a release from the Summit County Rescue Group.A friend of the 29-year-old climber said he knew he would be doing a climb near Officers Gulch, locally known as Officers Wall, but said the climber did not specify the exact area, according to SCRG. 16-year-old arrested, accused of first-degree murder, aggravated robbery The climber's friend said he called around 5 p.m. saying he was on a rock and was heading back down soon, expecting to return at 6:30, SCRG said. But the friend had not heard from the climber later that evening, so he drove to Officers Gulch and found the climber's car still parked there. SAN DIEGO -- Just over a day into the Labor Day weekend, California Highway Patrol officers have already arrested 11 drivers on suspicion of driving under the influence in the San Diego area, the department confirmed.These arrests come during CHP's period of maximum enforcement, which was implemented to post additional officers posted across the state to ensure roadway safety during the holiday. Enforcement began at 6:01 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1 and will continue through 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 4, according to the agency.During the weekend, law enforcement will be keeping an eye out for traffic violations while assisting motorists get to their destination safely. CARLSBAD, Calif. -- A man was stabbed in Carlsbad Sunday afternoon during what police believe was a road rage incident that originated on the Interstate 5, authorities confirmed.Around 12:21 p.m., Carlsbad police were alerted to the stabbing in nearby the 5600 block of Paseo Del Norte, the department said in a release. Officers were dispatched to the area where they discovered the victim, identified as a 22-year-old man, suffering from stab wounds to his upper body and back.The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening at this time.
